Let plants take care of YOU ❤️🌿
In times of distress I head to “nature”, or rather, to my house plants! 🤓🌿
If you are feeling out of sorts, or that the world is just too darn people-y right now... then seek out your house plants for some grounding, centering, and calm.
Some folks say that they shouldn't get a plant because they don’t have a “green thumb” or because they don’t want to have to take care of something. But us plant nerds know that it’s the plants who are actually taking care of us! Besides their life giving oxygen, they possess the greatest healing capabilities of all.
If you ask me, plants are the most evolved life form on the planet.
We can take herbs for our ailments and experience a gentle yet powerful realignment of our systems. Many of us instinctively know how much better we feel with a cup of herbal tea in hand. The beautiful aroma, the temperature of the cup
…we associate tea drinking with self-care.
So, What about just being with our living plants? Grooming them, watering them, putting our hands in their rich soil, and just witnessing the unique and beautiful expression of each one. Many of us living on the East Coast of the US grow the Christmas Cactus indoors so we can see its vibrant blooms despite the often harsh winter unfolding outside. They are like a candle on a dark night.
If you are in need of centering and calming your system right now, go to your plants and spend a little bit of time in their healing presence. If you don’t have a house plant, consider getting one so that it can take care of you right now.
